WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Azalea Festival Street Fair started Friday and lasts through the weekend.
Once the parade ended Saturday, many walked down to 2nd and Water streets for some good fun and to check out all the variety of vendors.
Booths include face painting, jewelry, t-shirts, and photography, and more. Of course, the food always draws a big crowd for the staples like funnel cakes, fresh made lemonade, kettle corn and ice cream.
Some drove hours to get the full Azalea Festival experience.
“There are so many different things to do,” Fayetteville resident Monica Grambusch said, “The parade, the uniqueness and variety of booths, you know you can just walk along, walk off your lunch, eat some more, walk that off. It’s a nice family thing to do.”
Multiple stages located in downtown Wilmington offer a wide range of local entertainment including a multicultural event.
Fireworks plan to shoot off Saturday night over the Cape Fear River at 9 p.m.
